We are delighted to provide a biographical sketch for Mr Nuha Mwesigwa, the Director of the Makerere University Private Sector Forum, our key link with the university on a regular basis. Please see below:

Mr. Nuha Akiiki Mwesigwa, MA (PAM) Mak, BA, Hons. Soc Admin. (Mak)  Dip. Bus., CAS (Mak) Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer (ED/CEO) Makerere University Private Sector Forum (MUPSF)

 

Mr Nuha A Mwesigwa, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer (ED/CEO) of Makerere University Private Sector Forum (MUPSF) and founder member. MUPSF was established in April 2006 by the University Senate and Council respectively with a goal of taping synergies of University Private Sector partnership for human development in the East African region.

He has been a Corporate Director and Senior Policy Adviser (SPA) to national-based institutions, a consultant to local and international agencies, NGOs and private sector organisations. Mr. Mwesigwa holds a Masters degree in Public Administration & Management (MA PAM (Mak)) alongside other qualifications that have shaped him into a policy analyst and institutional builder.

With dedication, experience and passion Mr. Mwesigwa has demonstrated his tenure by being timely, accurate and relevant to his work. He was a business advisor of the African Evangelistic Enterprise programme, a Senior Policy Advisor of Uganda National Farmers Federation during its structural reform and has worked in a number of international agencies including DANIDA and Action Aid Uganda among others in advisory and consulting assignments in the area of Institutional reform and policy.

Mr. Mwesigwa has recently conducted studies on organisational reforms in farmers’ organisations in Uganda; carried out consultancy work for Christian aid UK ‘National resource distribution; – a regional comparative analysis in Uganda’, has served as consultant to Loughborough University, as a tutor of consultancy skills training for senior and corporate managers and directors in Uganda, report writing and communication skills (a Training for Real Project) funded by DFID. He participated in the Uganda land reform process leading to the promulgation of the land Act in Uganda in 1997.

Mr. Mwesigwa is a member of Makerere University Senate (Academic Affairs) representing interests of the private sector. He has contributed towards the ongoing institutional transformation process. In his current role as Executive Director of MUPSF, Mr. Mwesigwa has set a goal of advancing MUPSF vision into transformation by building a strong and vibrant value chain in the University Private Sector partnership in the next decade.
